Praetorian Origins

As i reported earlier, i recently discovered i came from Praetorian Earth. Quite a surprise to me and my sisters. We've been trying to track down our origins, since we all came from the same orphanage and look exactly alike. When Tina Mcintyre let this bomb drop, i was stunned and knew we finally had the lead we were looking for.

Nobody would describe me as lithe. My powers make me almost completely indestructible. I can super-heat the air around my body to produce intense flames and heat. Stealth is not exactly my cup of tea.

Bunny, on the other hand ... Bunny can manipulate gravity. One manifestation of her power that she's worked hard to hone is bending light. Early on, she could just blur the space around her, making it tough to see exactly where she was. As she becamge more skilled in her power, she was able to more precisely produce the effect, making herself completely invisible. So, i volunteered Bunny to do some digging in Praetorian Earth on our history and she managed to dig up a lead.

We started with Dominatrix, since our first encounter with her seemed to indicate she may have recognized us. Of course, Dominatrix is something like Ms. Liberty's evil twin ... Bunny calls her an "analogue" and starts talking science to me ... i nod occassionally but largely block out the explanation since i'm never going to understand, anyway.

Interestingly enough, Dominatrix is the daughter of Miss Liberty in Praetorian Earth, just like Ms. Liberty is the daughter of Miss Liberty here. In Praetorian Earth, however, Dominatrix killed her mother to make a name for herself as an evil villain.

While we tried to figure out what Dominatrix was up to these days, Bunny dug up some old records on Miss Liberty that included photos. Imagine our surprise when we discovered all of us look exactly like her. Almost like the Praetorian Miss Liberty was another one of our sisters.

To follow up on the uncanny similarity, Portal Labs put Bunny in contact with Dr. Marcus Forge, a well known bioengineer who specializes in super-powered folk. Forge tells us he has a theory, but he needs to know where the Praetorian Miss Liberty's body was buried.


Malaise

Searching for Dominatrix and Miss Liberty's body was at least its a good excuse to help some of our friends. McBain has been doing some work for Maria Jenkins in Praetorian Earth. He's been kindof quiet about it, but he seems to be running in to some powerful folk over there. Since he was spending so much time in Praetorian Earth, we figured it wouldn't hurt to tag along for a bit. Maybe we'd run into Dominatrix.

We fought Chimera again with him last week and this week we helped him tackle Malaise, Mother Mayhem, Infernal, Diabloique, and Marauder ... and Dominatrix.


Dominatrix

Dominatrix was NOT happy to see Bunny and I.

"Back again so soon? I suppose its time i rid the world of you and your misbegotten sisters!" she spat in my face as I ran to intercept her.

She had a new squad of "pretty boys" with her. How they stand all that leather i can figure out. With the help of Kathy, Glacial Bane, Sonic, and Punchie we were able to drop her, but boy it took a while.


Dominatrix

Portal Labs has her stashed in a special cell. McBain spent some time questioning her about Statesman before he'd turn her over to Bunny and i ... what the heck is _that_ about? Well, it sounds like its going to be a mystery, because when i asked him, he said he didn't want to talk about it.


Marauder

Dominatrix wasn't talking, so we continued on and took out Marauder. The two of them were hanging out together, something I've been seeing a lot lately, i.e. two Praetorian AV's at once.

When we got back, Dominatrix was still being uncooperative. I asked her point blank where Miss Liberty's body was. She turned to me, a look of pleasure sparkling in her eye, and just grinned. I so wanted to slap that grin off her face, but the guards wouldn't let me.

Bunny glared at me. "You idiot!" she hollered, and stormed out of the room. I still haven't figured out what i did.
