Incendiary Lass - Vahzilok

I've had my head buried in the books the last couple weeks. I'm still trying to do some research to try to see if I can manage some magic that will make it easier for me to get around town. I think I told you Atsegine gave me access to her library and I managed to find some good spellbooks. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time translating Hulgerth's Guide into practice. He seems to be very heavy on theory and light on spell-casting details. I'd love to see how well _he_ could fair faced with a handful of Council members!

Anyway, one particularly dull evening while I was suffering through Hulgert's painfully detailed explanation on why he believes owl feathers are more potent catalysts for flying spells than fly wings, I had a call from Tristan Caine. He asked me if I would look into the kidnapping of Dr. Montrose, a Skyway City surgeon. Tristan had reason to believe the Vahzilok were responsible.

I've had a taste of the Vahzilok before, and I'll admit I try to steer clear of them. The Amulet of Tal'rthar's magics are more susceptible to their attacks, and I've been unable to determine the reason. However, they are an interesting group. Of course, I know there are spells that will let you reaminate the dead, but I wasn't really getting a feeling of magical energy around them. Since I needed a break badly, and its probably worth learning more about the Vahzilok, I told Tristan I would help.

Tristan gave me directions to an abandoned office building in Perez Park - one of _my_ favorite places. Thankfully I didn't have to go in to the park this time. The office building was easily accessible from the street.

Inside the place was pretty run down. At least the Vahzilok smell better when they aren't mucking around in the sewer.

Keeping the world safe from Happy Vahzilok Posted by Hello

I ran in to very little resistance, a few zombies and a few of those strange Reapers. I caught one of the Reaper types doing something strange to a zombie I had already taken out. Apparently he was trying to give the beast something like a second wind, because it started twitching and moving again. Thankfully I was able to knock the Reaper cold before he could finish whatever it was he was doing.

Thank goodness they no longer sell "Fleshie-O's" in newer vending machines. Posted by Hello

I turns out the Vahzilok were trying to force Dr. Montrose to help them with their reanimation experiments. From what I could gather from the doctor, its actually a scientific process. It may be more than that at some level, but Dr. Montrose didn't seem to believe magic was involved in what he witnessed.

Gamma Ray Gal

Gamma Ray Gal called me over the weekend. She's been pretty busy with her regular life lately, but apparently did manage to hook up with her regular gang again recently:

Hey Tiff! How are things going with you? I'm still buried in the lab working on trying to reproduce that nice teleportation effect. Not quite there yet. I did manage to accidentally trigger some ciruitry that produces a localized metabolic boost ... feels like you've drank about a hundred cups of coffee. I need to see if I can work that into my suit's power set.

Anyway, Sir Jaymes called me and asked if I'd help out with a mission he had in the Hollows. He had to take out some troll called Atta. I didn't really delve into the details, I just grabbed my suit and met the gang there.

He had us rendezvous at a big cave in one of the more dangerous neighborhoods of the Hollows.

Gamma and the gang take on Atta Posted by Hello

There were a _lot_ of trolls in this cave. Boy did it smell! I think Superdine makes trolls forget to shower. Well, its not like we found any restroom facilities in the cave, anyway. I had to keep my suit in hover mode most of the time just so i could avoid touching anything!

The team really didn't have too much trouble with the trolls. Well, at one point we accidentally managed to split up and it took Zeltyc and I a lot of effort to keep Jaymes and Mary conscious! Aside from that, tho ... it wasn't too difficult!

More trolls Posted by Hello

We finally made it to the room Atta was hiding out in. He had a big makeshift throne sitting at one of of the cave and a horde of trolls were hanging out.

Sir Jaymes the Victorious Posted by Hello

Jaymes goofed around a bit sitting on the throne after we pounded on Atta and his henchmen.

Battling Rikti

I spent some time over the weekend battling Rikti. Managed to team up with one of our favorite heroes, Venn Detta. She has a new costume and I managed to get a quick pic of the three of us.

Gamma introduced Bunny and I to Taxy Cab, a new hero in Paragon City who can manipulate radiation. We asked her to join us while we continued to battle Rikti.

The Envoy of Shadow

Had some close calls over the weekend battling Circle of Thorns with Bunny! Apparently the Circle were trying to negotiate with a major demonic power known as the Envoy of Shadow. Bunny was doing a mission when she encountered this beast in person. She asked me to join up to help her banish him, but he seemed to be a little resistant to my fire powers, and between the two of us, we couldn't knock him out.

Mystic Dragon joined up to help, but couldn't stay near him long enough. A dark shadow around the Envoy sapped Mystic Dragon's strength and he couldn't stand near for more than a handful of seconds at a time. MD grabbed a few more friends, Paolo and Serious Lee, and we were finally able to temporarily banish the Envoy.

He showed up twice more over the weekend, but thankfully we had Venn along. With the help of Venn's phantasms and phantom army we were able to do enough damage to Envoy to overcome his regenerative powers and banish him for good, foiling the Circle's plans!
