A protoge of mine, Incendiary Lass, meets her first Clockwork Boss.

Incendiary Lass is a protoge of mine who is new to Paragon City. Here is the start of her story:
My mother is a Guardian of the Seventh Circle, a powerful mage responsible for protecting the world from the powers of evil. She has trained me in the first circle spells for controlling the Fires of Avaleth. As a result, I can surround my hands with flames in order to deal a scorching blow to my opponents. My mother has also given me the powerful defensive talisman, the Amulet of Tal’ythar. I have awoken some of the most basic protections of the amulet, which can now provide me with a varying degree of protection from physical damage.
Recently, my mother has sensed a strange magical disturbance in Paragon City. She asked me to consult with Azuria in Atlas Park.
When I arrived in Atlas, Azuria suggested my mother’s discovery may be related to some recent gang activity. She asked me to investigate the Hellions, who recently appeared to be dabbling in dark magical powers.
I took to the streets and arrested a handful of Hellions to see if I could figure out what they were up to. Interrogating one of the gang members, I discovered the Hellions were collecting magical artifacts. One of these artifacts was about to be delivered to a minor lieutenant at a nearby warehouse, so I went to see what I could discover.
The warehouse was filled with a small group of gang members. It was fairly easy to dispatch them with my magical powers. While fighting the gang, I discovered I could augment the power of the amulet slightly. and find the artifact: an amulet of minor magical significance. I returned to amulet to Azuria.
I started with Resist Physical Damage and Scorch, picking up Temporary Invulnerability at level two. After reaching level three, I put my extra two slots in Resist Physical Damage. I found with TI active, most even-con villians would only do 3 points of damage to me per hit. I was doing about 7 or so with Scorch. While it recycled slowly, I could defeat villians in three or four hits.
After having wrapped up my investigation for Azuria, she pointed me to an associate of hers, Dr Laurence Mansfield, a coroner at the Atlas Park Hospital. Initially, Laurence had no work for me and I had also completed all of the tasks Azuria currently had on her plate. So, I had to pass some time exercising my magical skills against Hellions on the streets of Atlas Park.
While doing this work, I discovered an interesting spell buried on one of the tomes my mother sent with me. It was a spell that caused my foes to disregard common sense and become focused on attacking me.
Laurence didn’t have any insight into the magical activity my mother had detected. While he canvased his contacts, he asked me to help out a few friends of his.
First he sent me to David Wincott in the Hollows. Wincott was recruiting hero’s to help with the troll problem. I wasn’t quite ready for that work, so I told Wincott I’d be back another time.
Laurence then sent me on to the Kings Row Secutiry Chief who asked me to help admonish the Skulls, one of the Hellions rival gangs.
After helping out the Security Chief, Laurence has some news for me. He had found some information about a ranking Hellion called Scorch who was holed up in a nearby abandoned office building. While the information he had didn’t directly tie Scorch to the artifact thefts, Laurence felt comfortable we could learn something from Scorch if we applied a little pressure.
Laurence also pointed me to Rachel Torres, a cop in Galaxy City. She was investigating a strange group called the Lost. Nobody is really certain what the Lost are up to, but a gang that mysterious deserves investigation.
I picked up Taunt at level 4 and added a slot to RPD and Scorch (Acc, Dmg) at level 5. By this time, I could effectively fight five even-con Skulls in Kings Row, so the Security Chief mission was a breeze. Of course, doing the same in the Hollows would be a little more difficult, since those mobs are bigger and tend to add non-S/L damage to their attacks.
At level 5, things start to slow down for the first time, as it takes more than two missions to gain a level. I also started to feel the pain of only having a single attack aside from Brawl.
At level 6, I broke down and took Fire Sword. I found i was just not doing damage quickly enough. I have a pretty resist-heavy early build, with both RPD and TI, but it was tough surviving battles with oranges because i couldn't take them down quickly enough. Plus, at early levels you get Embalmed and CoT Mages who blow up ... you can forestall their explosions if you can just keep hitting them, and i couldn't do that with just Brawl and Scorch.
At level 7, I slot RPD again (ResDmg) and Fire Sword (Acc, EndRdx).
At level 8, i pick up Unyielding and slot it with EndRdx. I can easily run UY and TI and fight without noticing significant endurance loss at this level.
